In this email I want to share with you a little hard hitting (radical) truth I had to embrace, it felt like a “ouchie” but it liberated me and helped me stop getting in the way of my own greatness.

This email idea was sparked by a conversation I had recently with Egyptian bro Mo Ismail…who I respect deeply, he said to me

“Marina something changed, you are showing up differently, I see you more grounded and in your leadership era…what’s behind this glow up?” 

I knew exactly what to say to him because I’ve been sitting with this shift for a while now.

Storytime:

For the longest time in my business…

I had thoughts like “people who started when I did are so way ahead of me”

I also said things like

“you are not moving fast enough” to myself

and the part that would get me is this…

“I work so hard, I post every day, yet I’m not where she is.”

I even caught myself thinking:

“Something must be wrong with my strategy…I need to fix my content strategy”

Why?

Why did I think that my content strategy needed fixing…endlessly? like every week tinkering with a new strategy that the guru’s swear is the key to popping off (finally)

It seemed like no matter what I did, I wasn’t getting the results I wanted…

I still felt invisible…just another account on social media (even tho I know I’m not that)

I still felt like I couldn’t convert the number of clients I wanted to “expand”

I was looking at what other successful entrepreneurs who “seemed” like they’re where I want to go to see what has worked for them.

I was studying their content and brands to see if I could finally “crack the code” on my own expansion and finally get myself SEEN.

It all pointed back to something along these lines

Seemingly successful internet guru: 

”I have an ultimate content strategy that will solve all your problem.

Join my course to learn it and make $50k months”

While this is sexy marketing…

Part of me knew that yet another content strategy was NOT going to be why my business will FEEL like a success. Why my brand will be more visible. Why I will finally create content that converts without editing it a gazillion times to make it perfect.

The more I started to dig (You know I have a solid morning routine where i journal daily)

The more I realized…

The turning point (aka radical honesty):

It’s not that the strategies aren’t working for your brand, it’s that there’s something deeper that’s preventing you from visibility.

A wound…

Instead of shining, you hide.

Hiding can also be that you’re comfortable sharing valuable expert content, but when it comes to depth of who you are & your thought leadership….you shy away

BINGOOOOOO…

I got radically honest with myself and how I use content strategy as a way to avoid looking at the root cause (busted!!!)

and once you get this honest…once you know the truth

YOU CAN NOT UNKNOW IT!

I was digging more…

So your content remains at surface level & educational sitting safely in a plethora of sameness because that keeps you safe from judgment, being rejected or feeling discomfort…

Please tell me I’m not alone?

I know I’m not because I’ve seen this play out for many of my clients!

It’s not that your strategy is not good enough

You’d rather play it safe with expert content than expose yourself to any potential judgement…or god forbid someone unfollow you…

We all carry stories we’ve internalized from our past that made us who we are today.

That time your family told you talk too much.

The time your best friend in college told you’re an attention ho.

The time your partner made you feel stupid for sharing your outfit on social media.

The time your client asked for a refund.

All of it contributes to creating resistance to your visibility!!!!

And until you figure out what is truly underneath the shame, fear and resistance you’re carrying around your visibility wound no strategy will feel fully aligned or effective.

And this is the work you need to do in your brand (along with an aligned strategy) to allow yourself to be fully seen, celebrated & reach that next level of expansion in your brand presence.

It starts within & it ripples out!
